About the AJFN
The AJFN believes that no Australian Jewish person should ever feel alone on their fertility journey.
They deserve to have the support they need to try to build the next generation.
For those struggling to achieve their dreams of having a baby, the AJFN is a beacon of hope, offering financial and emotional support, educational resources and advocacy services. We strive to create a world where open and honest conversations about infertility within the Jewish and broader community are encouraged.
AJFN Support Offerings
AJFN’s Financial Support offers means-tested grants that cover a large proportion of the out-of-pocket expenses of fertility treatments, genetic testing of embryos, and psychologist and counsellor sessions related to the fertility journey.
AJFN’s Emotional Support Program includes a network of dedicated volunteer Peer Support Companions who have their own stories of infertility and have completed AJFN’s peer support training program. Anyone who approaches AJFN for support is offered the opportunity to be matched with a Companion. AJFN provides care packs, shabbat meals, transport to procedures, and movie tickets, and aims to support, comfort, normalise and educate in a trusting space through active listening, understanding and sharing.
Role Overview
Every person contacting the AJFN for support needs to feel that AJFN is a safe space where empathy, confidentiality and discretion is prioritised. Engendering this whilst effectively managing the financial grant assessment and approval process and referral/triage to the appropriate AJFN emotional support service is a critical element of AJFN’s service delivery and of the Support Coordinator role.
You will be the first point of contact for anyone approaching AJFN for support. You will coordinate the administration of the entire AJFN Support Program (financial, emotional and education).
